Show Chief Rapp Praised by iFire Chiefs The interclub meeting and luncheon lun-cheon held at the Bluebird on Friday noon was well attended by the members of the Chamber of Commerce, the Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce, the Lionst Rotary Ro-tary and Kiwanis clubs. President Ross Anderson presided and introduced in-troduced a number of the visitors and then turned -the -chairmanship over to Fire Chief Rapp. The cubs met jointly to honor the presence here of the president of the International Association of Fire Chiefs Daniel Tiemey of Arlington, Mass., Jay W. Stevens, executive secretary from San Francisco and Chief Boyde of Wallace, Idaho. During the dinner hour these men paid a very high compliment to our local Fire Chief Charles Rapp in the efficient way he handles the department and for his sincerity in the responsibiities that he must carry as a protector protec-tor of life and property. "If ever you want to get rid of the chief Mr. Stevens said, "just tell me and I have a place for him". The old idea of just pouring water wa-ter into a burning building is a thing of the past, according to the speakers, for now firemen are expected to know a little about construction of buildings and chemistry. The reaction of water upon certain chemicals and drugs is very disasterous and has in many instances caused death to the firemen.
