Show 1 HYRUM 4 i : Hyrum The State Liquor commission com-mission certainly did a very fine thing this week when they revoked re-voked licenses of several local men. It would be a blessing both for, the men and everyone concerned con-cerned if they would take the liberty li-berty away from a great many nxre heavy drinkers. ' ' Friday saw the climax to this years school activities. Children and teachers were happy. They have earned this blissful vacation. vaca-tion. The Hyrum stake quarterly conference con-ference was held in the Wiells-ville Wiells-ville tabernacle Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. R. B. Maughan entertained entertain-ed at her h6me last Sunday in honor of her daughter Marie's 9th brithday anniversary. 16 guests were served. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Smith are receiving congratulations over a lovely girl, born to them early this week. Mr. and Mrs. Laveen Jacobsen have been visiting in California for the past two weeks, they expect ex-pect to return to their home here sometime this week end. ' Mr. and Mrs. Deb Young are again numbered among the Hyrum Hy-rum residents. The people . of Hyr rum are happy to have them here again. Faris Maughan is leaving for Blackfoot Idaho soon where he will be employed during .the next few weeks. Mr. Maughan works with a well-known paint contractor. contrac-tor. ' ' Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harris of Portage were visitors at the , home of Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Nielsen this week. .;. Mr. and Mrs. Marinus Falslev of Logan were Hyrum) "visitors last Sunday. Charlene Nielsen, 6-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Nelsen, had ', the . . misfortune of breaking her arm last Sunday afternoon. af-ternoon. She and two other children child-ren were" riding a horse, driving I cows home from the pasture. The horse walked under a tree with low overhanging branches, the children were swept off the horse falling in a heap on the ditch bank. '.-."' Mr. and Mrs. Hervin Nielses are very'.,, happy over a beautiful baby, girl, born to them last Sunday. Sun-day. Mother and child are feeling feel-ing fine and the father is so happy hap-py he can hardly recover. Glade Nielsen, 12 year old sor of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. .B, Nielsen submitted to an operation for appendicitis ap-pendicitis last Sunday afternoon. |
