Show NEWTON I i NEWTON The officers of the Y.L.M.I.A. sponsored a vy successful mothers and daughters outing Wednesday " afternoon, which included free transportation transporta-tion to and from Logana, where for a nominal fee all enjoyed a ( good swim. There were 75 who made the trip. Miss Gweneva Clarke returned home from a week's visit at Soda Springs, Mrs. Mary Rigby and Mrs. Wm. Swinyard returned home Saturday from a three week's visit in the north. Mrs. Rigby visited with relatives at Bancroft and Idaho Falls. Gwen visited with her brother, Dr. Merlin Rigby at Rex-burg. Salt Lake City accompanied her. She will remain and visit with her daughter, Mrs. Murlin Anderson for an indefinite period. Mrs. Leona Anderson visited with relatives in Hyrum last week. Mrs. Beth Thompson, of Clark-ston Clark-ston was a guest at the home of Mrs. Florence Games, a few days. Miss Ellen Lauritzen had as her guests Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Johnson and nephew Harvey Har-vey Alliston, of Illinois, on their return trip from Yellowstone park. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Clauner a girl. Mrs. Clauner was formerly Miss Luella Hansen. Mrs. Doras Tubbs Hunsaker and small son, of Honeyville, is the guest of her grandmother, Annie Benson. I Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Goodsell entertained with a dinner Tuesday Miss Liberty Rigby returned home Saturday from a three week visit to Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Cllve Hansen and two children, and Mrs. S. T. Kar-ren Kar-ren and daughter, o.f Salt Lake City, are spending a week here with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Anderson. Ander-son. Friends and neighbors of Mrs. Annie Benson gathered at her home Monday afternoon in honor of her birthday. Bishop and Mrs. Stanley Griffin Grif-fin had as their house guests Sunday Mr. and Mrsu Lawrence West and sister of Mrs. Griffin and their daughter, of Pleasant Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Danklif and daughter of Pomona, California. Miss Eva Goodsell and Dayel Kayser of Salt Lake City spent Sunday at the home of Mrs. Leon- in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Hansen and family. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Leon-ard Goodsell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Keller of Logan, and Mrs. Serena Hendrickson, David Stone of Bancroft, Idaho, is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Stone. Royal Griggin and sons, D. and Eldon, of Logan, were Newton visitors. Sunday. Mrs. George Elwood entertained Sunday in honor of her daughter Barbara. Besides the parents and her brother Billie, a three course dinner was served to Mr. and Mrs. Dresden B'lanchard of Cache Junction, Mr. and Mrs.. Lester Taylor of Cornish, and Russel Peterson Pe-terson of Lewiston. A large birthday cake centered the table. A number of Newton residents attended the funeral services of Mrs. Clarence Bowman at Lewis-ton. ard Goodsell, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. j Stone, and two daughters and a son, motored to American Fork Wednesday where the two boys will attend school. Mrs. Mary Eliza Wersley, of Victor, Idaho, is the guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marinus Peterson Jr. Mrs. Lettie Jenkins celebrated her birthday anniversary Thursday by having a group of her relatives rela-tives and friends spend a social afternoon at her home. A buffet i luncheon was served. The 4-H Sewing Suzzies met at the home of Florence Garnes Friday Fri-day with Nola Garnes and Lu-, Lu-, cille Sutherland as. hostess. Mrs. Iris Nebeker and Ted Hansen and five members were present. Dee Benson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Benson, underwent an operation for hernia at a local hospital Friday.
