Show Honey Producers Hear of New Plans For the purpose of refinancing marketing of small lots of honey and with a view to sharing in federal aid by the smaller honey producers of the Mountain States Honey Producers association, Ralph Smith, president of the association, and A. W. Anderson, Ander-son, field agent for Utah, met with a number of ithe local honey producers produc-ers Wednesday morning at Center-field. Center-field. Quite a number of the local members of the association were present and heard the encouraging message the officials had to give. The discussion on the plan of getting get-ting better results for the smaller producer was broadened out and many of those present had suggestions sugges-tions to offer. Heretofore the smaller producer nas been compelled to pacK honey in large containers, which were sold in carload lots. The outcome was that the jobber repacked the honey in smaller containers and then distributed distribut-ed it to the retailer, thus forcing a loss to the producer. The plans to be worked out are to the effect that if the honey is packed in the smaller containers direct from th extractor, and then passed to the retailer and then to the consumer, a noticeable saving; will be effected. . Messrs. Smith and Anderson are making a tour of the honey producing produc-ing sections of the state, and are outlining a plan to the various members mem-bers of the association. |
