Show LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mrs. Ida B. Nielson, who spent three weeks as the house guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Hughes at Salt Lake, returned to her home at Centerfield Sunday afternoon. Mr .and Mrs. Austin J. Kearns came in from their home at Los Angeles An-geles Thursday of last week. Mr. Kearns, due to business interests, cut his visit short and returned Monday. Mrs. Kearns, however, will be here for three months or more visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Kearns. Mr. and Mrs. Mont Taylor are the proud parents of a baby girl, bom to them Monday night. All are doing nicely at the Taylor home. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Duggins, Mrs. Wesley Duggins and Mrs. L. Lowden, motored to Salt Lake City Tuesday morning. The party went north to witness the arrival and maneuvers of the army's aerial fleet, which is eastward east-ward bound. . Mrs. Floyd Childs, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Jepson and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Ferre, were among those who motored mo-tored to Salt Lake Wednesday of last week to witness the presentation of "The Message of the Ages," at the Salt Lake tabernacle. Mr. and Mrs. George Francis, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Childs, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Newman of Gunnison, and E. D. Ulm of Arizona, motored to Maple Grove Sunday and enjoyed a picnic dinner. v Mr. and Mrs. Ottis . Johnson and son Bobbie, came in from Tooele Sunday and visited with Mrs. Nina Nelson and Miss Alta Nelson. E. D. Ulm, of northern Arizona, spent last week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Newman. He left the first of the week for southern points. Mrs. F. W. McMillan and daughters, daugh-ters, Barbara and Audrey, Salt Lake City, are spending a week at the home of Mrs. Millie Kearns. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Peterson motored mo-tored to Levan Saturday. They ac-.companied ac-.companied Mrs. Peterson's mother, who had been visiting here several months, to her home. A. 0. Nielson, juvenile judge, was a brief visitor to Gunnison Tuesday. He was just returning from Pan-guitch, Pan-guitch, where he had been called to investigate a case where boys had been charged with stealing gasoline. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Bartholomew of Fayette, well and popularly known in Gunnison, are rejoicing over the arrival of a 9-pound baby girl, born to them Saturday evening. Mother and daughter are doing splendidly. Mrs. G. H. Anderson, formerly Nola Beck, is here from her home at Eureka. Eu-reka. She is a guest of her father, Oswell Beck at Centerfield, and may remain for the summer as Mr. Anderson Ander-son is expected to desert the mining camp and locate at Centerfield. Miss June Duggins entertained for sixteen friends Monday evening, celebrating cele-brating her birthday anniversary. At seven o'clock a dainty luncheon was served and the remainder of the evening eve-ning was spent in playing "cootie." '.. Mrs. Mark Duggins was hostess to members of the Wide Awake bridge club Saturday afternoon at the Wistaria. Wis-taria. In the contest for honors Mr3. Chas. Lund and Mrs. J. E. Metcalf were winner of first, while the consolation con-solation went to Mrs. A. M. Peterson. Luncheon was served at three-thirty. |
