Show Incubators for Ducks Is Now Common Method The desire to incubate their own eggs has been bred out of many strains of ducks, particularly the Pe-kin. Pe-kin. For this reason the egg must be hatched in incubators or under hens. Duck eggs should be gathered daily, kept in a cool place and turned daily They should be set as soon as possible possi-ble after laying, as they do not keep as well as hens' eggs. In incubating duck eggs artificially, they are handled about the same as hens' eggs except that the tempera- ture should be held at 102 degrees for the first three weeks and more moisture mois-ture supplied in the machine. They may be tested for fertility on the fourth or fifth day. |
