Show Big Times Planned For Annual Meet The twenty - first annual High School Day, sponsored by the University Univer-sity of Utah, will be held Friday, May 9. All high school seniors are invited to visit the University, to become be-come acquainted with the student body and faculty, and to learn of the opportunities which the University has to offer. Contest work in music, art, chemistry, dramatics, oral reading, read-ing, extemporaneous speaking ' and home economics will be special features fea-tures of the day. The state high school track meet will be held in the University stadium the day following. follow-ing. A program of entertainment and instruction is planned to fill an entire day and evening. Seventy-five contests con-tests will be conducted in which high school seniors and others from all over the state will participate. There will be thirty contests in music alone. These include the state finals in the National Band and the National Orchestra Or-chestra contests. The winners in the various divisions of these contests will represent Utah at the national contests. Glen Haydan, M. A., instructor in-structor in music in charge of the R. O. T. C. band music at the University of California, is being brought to Salt Lake to judge the band contests. The annual University award assembly and a special concert will be held at noon. Lunch will be served serv-ed free in the University cafeteria. In the afternoon the finals in a number num-ber of the contests will be held, and fraternities and sororities will hold open house.
