Show LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST j Advices have been received by Mr. and Mrs. John 11 Anderson announcing announc-ing the birth of a fine 8',2-pound baby girl to Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Anderson, Ander-son, at the latter's home in Logan. The baby was born July 11, and both mother and daughter are doing fine. i Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Willardson delightfully entertained at a five o'clock dinner at their home in Chris-tenburg Chris-tenburg Monday evening, complimentary compliment-ary to Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Willardson of Los Angeles, who are visiting with I relatives and friends. Covers were i laid for eight. Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Duggins, Miss June Duggins and Jay Duggins, sought the cool breezes of Fishlake Friday evening, returning Sunday. Fishing, according to Mr. Duggins, ' was "hot stuff," the catch was good . and the weather at the high altitude .was anything but cool. j Mr. and Mrs. Ransome Overfelt and son and daughter, of McGill, Nev., spent Tuesday and Wednesday as the ; house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Overfelt. Wednesday morning they left for Logan, where they will visit for a day or two at the home of the parents of Mrs. Overfelt. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Alden arrived from Salt Lake Saturday and are visiting vis-iting with Mrs. Alden's parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Beauregard. Mrs. Laura Larson has gone to Bountiful for an indefinite visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Myrup. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Duggins, June and Jay Duggins, and Mrs. Waldo Villard, motored to Provo Wednesday to joht in the celebration of the 82nd birthday anniversary of Joseph Park, father to Mrs. Duggins. The event was in the form of a family reunion, and was held in Pioneer park at the Garden City. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Duggins, Audrey, Au-drey, Deon and Jerrolyn Duggins, and Mrs. Editha Rosenlund, were travelers to the capital city Tuesday. Mr. Duggins Dug-gins and Mrs. Rosenlund returned early Wednesday morning, and Mrs. Duggins and daughters will remain for a ten-day visit with Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Bawden, parents to Mrs. Duggins, Dug-gins, Mrs. Hyrum Christiansen spent last week-end visiting with relatives in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Ralph Hedquist and son, Francis Fran-cis Jean, who spent some two weeks visiting at the Oswell Beck home in Centerfield, returned to their home in Provo Sunday. They were accompanied accompan-ied back by Mr. Hedquist, who came down from the north Saturday evening. Mrs. Royal Liuchanan, Mrs. Del Mills and Miss Dorothy Buchanan motored to Antimony Saturday and attended funeral and burial services for Chas. Rowan, a near relative. Miss Lucile Emblcy, who has just completed a business course at a Salt Lake business college, is spending a vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. E. Embley, at Centerfield. Mrs. A. EL Reams left for San Francisco early last week. She will spend about two months at the Bay city visiting with her daughter, Mrs. C. P. Kleebauer. Mrs. A. J. Swain and Billy Swain of Ely, Nov., arrived in Gunnison late Sunday evening. Tuesday morning, morn-ing, accompanied by Mrs. George Swain, they left for a two-day trip to the parks and summer resorts of Southern Utah. This, Thursday, morning, Mrs. Swain and son returned return-ed to their home at Ely, where Billy has employment. Eldon Willardson, head of the E. Willardson Plumbing company, Los Angeles, came in from the coast last Saturday and is spending a week visiting vis-iting with his parents, relatives and friends, and incidentally searching the lakes and streams for trout. He plans to return to his home Saturday, and will be accompanied by Mrs. Willardson Willard-son and children, who have been here for a month or more visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Niels Larson, parents of Mrs. Willardson. Mrs. Ida B. Nielson of Centerfield, was a visitor in Salt Lake City last week. On the trip to the city she waa accompanied by Don and Doris Hughes, who had been spending a few weeks with their grandmother, Mrs. Nielson. When she returned Sunday, she was accompanied by Elaine and Helen Hughes, who will spend a month visiting at the Nielson home. Mr. and Mrs. George Swain and children motored to Monroe Sunday afternoon and were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Swain. Miss Thelma Larson, who has been living at Los Angeles, Calif., for some time, is here on j vacation and will visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Niels Larson, and other relatives. Mrs. F. J. Sorenson is visiting here with relatives and friends. The Sorenson Sor-enson home is in Xos Angeles, and Mrs. Sorenson will spend some time here and at Centerfield and Axtell before returning home. Mrs. Lyda B. Duggins left Sunday for Los Angeles, Calif., where she will spend some time visiting with relatives and friends. Mrs. Duggins accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Don E. Pence and children, who had spent a week visiting here. Members of the F. & F. club enjoyed en-joyed an outing at Crystal Springs last Saturday. A swim in the pool was enjoyed, after which a picnic lunch was served. Little Norma Lar-sen Lar-sen and Don Larsen of Manti, entertained enter-tained with some acrobatic stunts and some songs. Miss Mary Baxter was a traveler to Salt Lake Sunday, where she will spend an extended vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Christiansen entertained some friends at their home Tuesday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Willardson, who are visiting here from Los Angeles. Dinner was served at six o'clock, covers being laid for eight. |
