Show Anderson, the Mayfield trapper, had recently caught two more lions in Twelve Mile canyon. This makes four lions and 22 coyotes and cats caught by Mr. Anderson in that section during dur-ing the present winter. According to Ranger Cox's figures, the forage produced on one of his experimental plots was seven ounces only as compared with 8.3 ounces as an average for the past five-years. The individual species plot at Spring Hill showed 121 plants of low larkspur - while the open plot a mile east of Spring Hill showed 37 of these plants. In 1929 the count was 176 plants in the open plot at Spring Hill and 60 plants on the plot a mile east of Spring Hill. , Manti Forest Leads. The Alabama forest, with 105,000 acres, has one grazing permit covering cover-ing eight cattle and two horses. The Alaska forests, containing over 21,-000,000 21,-000,000 acres, have three grazing permits per-mits covering 28 cattle. In Utah there ' are 4,139 cattle and 2,152 S & G permits. per-mits. The Manti forest, with 725,000 acres and 1673 permittees, heads the list of forests in the United States in total numbers of grazing preferences.
