Show Opening Date Set For Baseball Season Elsinore, Salina, Gunnison and Nephi, Ne-phi, four fast baseball teams, and comprising the "cracks" of Southern Utah when it comes to real playing, will comprise the teams that make up the Southern Utah Baseball league. This decision was readied Sunday afternoon af-ternoon when representatives from Salina, Nephi, and Elsinore met at the Gunnison Valley bank building for a league meeting, the second held this season. It was anticipated that Ephraim and Richfield would join the league, as some of the players from the two towns had indicated that both would furnish teams. However, no representatives were present either from Richfield nor Ephraim, and the league, this year, will go into a four-team four-team league. It might be said that all four have within their rosters some real classy players and fans can rest assured that they will see some mighty battles. A financial report from the league secretary showed a balance of $169. OG yet in the treasury, a holdover from last season, which means assessments will not be necessary. The Gunnison Baseball club perfected perfect-ed its organization last week by electing elect-ing Lenno Rosenvall as president; C. E. Andersen secretary-treasurer, and Waldo Villard, manager. Manager Vil-lard Vil-lard is looking over the "gang" with a clear eye and proposes to- pick his best men for the play. Several "novices," "no-vices," who have shown fine ability as "sandlotters," have been taken into in-to the- fold and some promising material ma-terial is sure to be developed. Regular Regu-lar practices are being had and Manager Man-ager Villard and his crew hope to be in shape with the opening of the season, sea-son, May 15. Team Rosters. Each' team in the league has submitted sub-mitted the respective rosters of players, play-ers, which have been limited to 20. The usual provision has been made that players, to be eligible to play, must have been residents of the Jeague district from February 10 to the -time of the opening of the league games. New players may be substituted substi-tuted for any game by the soliciting team giving 48 hours notice, and providing pro-viding the substitution does not belong be-long to any other team within the league boundaries.
