Show Joe H. Ferre, accompanied by his I son, Buel, visited at the home of A. A. Ferre last week. They returned to their home at Salt Lake Thursday Thurs-day afternoon. j i ' H. L. Hill, truck driver for the:' Duggins Motor company, is spending"! a few days at Salt Lake this week, where he is taking special medical; treatment. ' John Chew, former well known ' Gunnison resident, is in the city fori a three-months visit with his sister, 1 Mrs. J. L. Kearns. Mr. Chew spent the past winter at San Francisco. I Mr. and Mrs. George Larsen came , down from Salt Lake Sunday morn-1 ing and spent a few hours as the ' g-uests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. ! Edwin Larsen. The visitors returned return-ed late Sunday evening. A. C. Prows, president of the Salina Produce association, was a Gunnison visitor Wednesday. Mr. Prows was conferring with Gunnison Gunni-son Centerfield and Axtell potato growers, regarding the planting of Potatoes for his association. Mr. and Mrs. Roy.Childs entertained entertain-ed at an anniversary dinner party Tuesday evening, complimentary to their daughter, Lois, it being the latter's second birthday. Turkey was the piece de resistance and covers cov-ers were laid for fourteen guests. Following dinner progressive 500 was enjoyed until a late hour. Mr. and Mrs. E. Jensen of Manti, were special guests. -! 1- LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST - 1- Mrs. J. F. Metcalf delightfully entertained en-tertained at a chicken dinner party Monday evening. Covers were laid for ten guests. John P. Jensen came down from Salt Lake the first of the week and is looking after his business interests inter-ests in Gunnison. Mrs. Niel Sorenson, who visited with Dr. and S. S. Kunz at Salt Lake several days last week, returned home Sunday afternoon. Miss Roberta Childs returned Sunday Sun-day after an absence of five weeks. While away she visited friends and relatives at Garland, Ogden and Salt Lake. Mrs. Hyrum Christiansen entertained enter-tained at a chicken dinner last week complimentary to Newell Morten-sen, Morten-sen, who leaves shortly for a mission to the Netherlands for the Mormon church. Twenty-five guests were present, those from out of town being be-ing Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Swallow, Golden Swallow and Miss Ardis Christiansen of Manti. Mrs. Leo Gledhill charmingly entertained en-tertained for the Bonne Foi club Wednesday afternoon from two to five thirty at needlecraft. During the sewing hours Mrs. I. L. Henrie gave a reading and at five thirty dainty refreshments were served. O. B. Berglund, president, Ira Overfelt, cashier, C. F. Anderson, assistant as-sistant cashier, together with O. L. Malmgren, Richard Fledsted and J. N. Christiansen, , directors, of the Gunnison Bank, made a hurried business visit to Salt Lake Saturday. Satur-day. Members of the Tres Jouli club were delightfully entertained at the ' home of Mrs. A. M. Peterson Thursday Thurs-day afterenoon of last week. Needle-craft Needle-craft during the early afternoon and dainty refreshments at five proved the enjoyable features. |
