Show County Club Outing Proves Big Success The fourth annual outing of the 4-H clubs of Sanpete county, held at Palisade Pali-sade park Thursday of last week, went over big. and proved one of the best yet held in history since the 4-H club movement was started here. Eleven clubs from various parts of the county-were county-were represented by 410 members from the thirty-six clubs. It was a gala day for all, and with a clear sky and happiness and contentment predominating, pre-dominating, and nothing to mar the pleasure of the club membcr-s, the 1929 outing! went down in history as a huge success. . The morning activities consisted in getting the club members registered, and this completed a short time was devoted to recreation in games and amusements. Following the basket lunch a brief meeting was held, during which the following program was given: Community singing, club songs and an address by County Agent C. O. Stott. Mr. Stott then introduced Mrs. T. A. Pascoe, former home demonstration agent and club leader of Minnesota. Mrs. Pascoe gave an intensely interesting inter-esting talk on 4-H club work and the members assembled from the various parts of the county gained a volume of knowledge on the different activities. activi-ties. Club stunts proved an interesting number at the outing. Ephraim second year cooking club presented the 4-H vanity case and carried off first prize. Gunnison second year sewing club took second prize in the presentation of the "Wedding of the Painted Dolls." Fairview 2nd year sewing club presented pre-sented a reading, and was awarded third place. Other clubs competing were Manti first year cooking club, Gunnison second year cooking club, Axtell first year sewing club. The Temple City Calf club gave stunts and songs and the entire program was immensely enjoyed. Before the close of the meeting Lawrence Lowry, president of the Sanpete County Fair association, gave a brief talk and urged urg-ed all county clubs to prepare their exhibits for the fair, which opens September Sep-tember 11 and concludes September 13. Following a short talk by County Agent Smith of Juab county, games and swimming were delightful pastimes. pas-times.
