Show - Written Application Required at U of U Because of the unusually large number of freshmen students expected expect-ed to enter the University of Utah this fall, all high school graduates who are seeking admission in addition to having their credentials and recommendations recom-mendations filed by the high school must make a written application for admission. Blanks for this purpose may be obtained from the recorder's office at the university, according to E. J. Norton, recorder of the faculties, facul-ties, who requests that applicants be made at least one month in, advance of the opening of school. Freshmen will report for registration registra-tion Thursday, September 26, and registration reg-istration for former students and students stu-dents with advanced college standing will take place Monday, September 30, according to the dates given in the new general catalog of the university which is just, off the press. All first year students will be required re-quired to attend the university on Friday Fri-day and Saturday, September 27 and 28. There will be special lectures and discussions concerning classroom and ; campus life and classes will be organ- j ized. Regular class work will begin i Tuesday, October 1. The Autumn quar-1 ter will end Saturday, December 21. j The freshmen class last year numbered num-bered 1195. If the usual proportion on this year's high school graduates en-j ter the university, there will be 1600 ; freshmen. The university is making provisions to care for all who apply i and meet the entrance requirements.! The recorder's office is now attacking j the mass of applications and creden-i tials of hifch school graduates already j received. It is expected that all appli-i cations will be passed upon before the ' middle of September and all appli- j cants informed of their standing be- i fore they report for registration. j |
