Show Boys Turn Bandits; Rob Star Market Four youthful Gunnison boys, through lack of something to keep them busy, turned brigands sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning, and burglarized the Star Market. The booty secured amounted to 4.65, taken from the cash register, regis-ter, and a box of chewing gum. Fearful Fear-ful of being detected, the lads then beat a hasty retreat. Entrance to the' store was made by a pass key, which one of the lads was carrying. The names of the boys will not be published pub-lished at this time, as the experience they went through may prove a I valuable lesson. When it was discovered that the store had been burglarized, an inspection in-spection of conditions was started. It was revealed that all four of the boys were seen loitering on the street early Sunday morning. When confronted and practically trapped, the lads made a complete confession., and they further acknowledged that two of the boys stood guard south of the store while the other two made the break into the store. The boys were given a hearing before be-fore Juvenile Judge Nielson Tuesday morning- at the offices of County Attorney At-torney C. M. Edwards. All entered pleas of guilty and Judge Nielson assessed as-sessed each a fine of $25. Arrangements Arrange-ments were made for payment of the fines and the youths were parolled to their parents. The assessing of the fine, however, was not all that the presiding judge gave. He gave the boys a lecture, telling them to watch their step before they committed greater crimes. |
