Show son and family Monday evening, under un-der the direction of the Relief society and the bishopric. Many useful gifts were received. A large attendance was present, including Mr. Sorenson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Sorenson, his two brothers, Horace and Neal Sorenson, and his two sisters, Marian and Neva Sorenson, of Mayfield. His twin sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sorenson, of Eph-raim, Eph-raim, were also present. Miss Eva Mel3or is visiting in Hatch with Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Porter, Por-ter, and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Mellor wens visiting in Annabella Sunday. Mrs. Mellor is remaining with relatives' for a week. I FAYETTE Ella Bown, Correspondent o o Calvin Bartholomew left Sunday for a short vacation. He will visit relatives in Provo and Springville. Ray C. Bartholomew, Narvel Mellor, Mel-lor, and families, sppnt an enjoyable Fourth of July in the Manti canyon with relatives of the Henry Wintch family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Crowther and Miss Louise Leichty of Provo, visited visit-ed with Mrs. Narvel Mellor and Mrs. Ray C. Bartholomew last week. Calvin Bartholomew, Miss Louise Liechty, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan and Miss Jeanette Hanford spent Monday of last week at the Manti temple. Mrs. Hazel McKell of Short Hills,1 New Jersey, came in Thursday of last week to assist in nursing her mother, Mrs. William Bown, back to health. Tha Fathers' and Sons' outing, held in Twelve Mile canyon was well attended by the men and boys here. Thirteen per cent of the ward participated par-ticipated in this outing. They all enjoyed en-joyed themselves to the extent that, all fathers had to .rest one full day after returning home before continu-, ing their daily activities. Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Earl and son,' of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Earl of St. George, were vis-, iting relatives and friends here Sunday. Sun-day. Mrs. Carlyle Earl and son are remaining for an extended visit. Thursday evening of last week about 9 o'clock, Ernest J. Sorenson's home caught on fire. This was ex-; tinguished, but the second fire later broke out and the home was com-! pletely gone by 11 o'clock. Relatives and several friends have decided to help Mr. Sorenson in getting logs from the canyon and begin construction construc-tion of a new home. A shower was given Ernest Soren- |
