Show " i Swalberg Reunion Held In Gunnison Organization of the Swalberg Fam-iiy Fam-iiy reunion was perfected last Sat- J urday and Sunday, when some fifty members and descendants from throughout Utah, adjoining states : and as far away as Honolulu, gather-ed gather-ed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. J L. Swalberg. Immediately an organi-zation organi-zation was completed and officers named to carry over the first reunion. Fred N. Swalberg of Marysvale, and j a former resident of Gunnison, was I named as the first president of the ' Swalberg organization. Miss Emily Swalberg of Salt Lake City was chosen first vice-president; Uhlan Swalberg of this city was elected second sec-ond vice-president, and Melvin Hal-1 len of Salt Lake will serve as secre-' tary-treasurer. Uhlan Swalberg was chosen chairman of the social committee, com-mittee, and Miss Emily Swalberg will be chairman of the genealogical com- j mittee. The affair was held at the Ernest Swalberg home. The shade of the "old apple tree" and other trees at the Swalberg home furnished an ideal "camping" spot, and the entire group were comfortably housed in tents. Each day an informal program was given and in addition sports of various var-ious sorts were enjoyed. Horseshoe pitching was one of the interesting sports for the men folks, while the women did needlework and enjoyed social gatherings. The Swalberg Family reunion, now regularly organized and officered, will meet annually. |
