Show The recent birth of five baby girls to Mrs. Ovila Dionne of Ontario has given renewed interest to a study of statistics concerning multiple births. Dr. Greulich of the University of Colorado, who has examined tables covering more than 100 million births in various lands, finds that quintuplets quintup-lets occur only once in about 57 million mil-lion births. Twins occur once in about 87 births, triplets in about 1,569, quadruplets in about 658,503. The Dionne babies have already lived longer than any other quintuplets of record, none of whom ever survived i more than five days. |
