Show Fall Prom Moving Truck Injures Man Deon Nielson, 27, of Dividend, son of Mrs. Pearl Nielson of Axtell, was J taken to the Salina hospital late Friday Fri-day night in an unconscious condition condi-tion as a result of an injury received receiv-ed .when he fell from a moving truck. It was first believed that the young man had sustained a basal skull fracture, frac-ture, but Monday morning an X-ray was taken and the injury proved to be a severe concussion. Since Friday-night Friday-night when he sustained the injur1, until Wednesday morning, Mr. Nielson Niel-son was unconscious, at which time he became rational and recognized relatives who were with him. However, How-ever, the jolt was severe but attending attend-ing physicians are of the belief that he has passed the danger mark and hopes are held for his full and complete com-plete recovery. Mr. Nielson, who had been employed employ-ed at the mines at Dividend, boarded a truck at Santaquin, and had planned plan-ned a hunting trip. Three men were occupying the only seat and Deon was riding oh the running board. When nearing Fayette Mr. Nielson lost hi., footing and fell heavily to the hard road while the truck was going at a good speed. Nielson was picked up and hurried to Gunnison and then to the Salina hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for the injury he received. |
