Show Pniyitijf for Fine Weather. In thoso countries where, unlike California, Cali-fornia, they have to pray for fine weather, weath-er, it needs sometimes a great deal of fnith to stick to the church. In Scotland, tor instance, one of the few really religious relig-ious countries in the world, a large proportion pro-portion of the minister's duty is to pray for fine weather. There was a quiet Scotch village where the farmers were all in the dumps. The Scotch mist kept coming down all the time, and it alternated alter-nated with a frequent very heavy storm. The minister had prayed every Sabbath for fine weather without avail for four weeks. He met an old farmer one day. "John,'" he said, "this feai-fu' weather's nathing but a judgment o' God on this parhth. Ye'r sich a wicked lot that the Lord's jist gaun to punish ye.M "'Deed, minister, we dinna tak the same view of it. "We think that there's aomethin' the matter wi' the minister. Ho hasna got sufficient influence up there; an' I'm tellin' ye, minister, if ye dinna succeed wi' your prayer next Sabbath Sab-bath we'll bo maist unfortunately compelled com-pelled to discharge ye an' ca' somebody elte."'
