A Wonderful Uronzo 1'atod- A missionary who has settled in the province of Sz-Chuan, central China, and who has visited the great Buddhist Bud-dhist peak. Mount Omel, describes the temples around the base as still showing show-ing many wonderful works of art Near the foot of the mountain there still stands a pagoda of bronzo fifteen stories high, believed to bo upward of a thousand years old. From the ground to the polished ivory tip this immense structure is literally covered with delicate figures of men, beasts, birds and reptiles. Of figures of Buddha Bud-dha there are no less than 4,700 within the province, most of them in the Immediate Im-mediate vicinity of the sacred peak. St Louis Republic.
