Show heavily charged with valuable minerals. When some of the float from the : -'Cold Peak" mine was exhibited in Salt Lake last week, an old assayer remarked before the assay was made: ''If that rock goes $15 to the ton you have a good thing." The assay showed $20, that being high for croppings. Some ledges with much richer ore have been subsequently found, which will go all the way from $-30 to $5U a ton. Such ore'is now ready for shipment and money could be made out of it. Carbonate of silver and gold, showing ten ounces of silver, with good indications of , other metals, which were not assayed as-sayed for at the time, have been lately discovered. That is a fine showing. Such a mine in a well-known well-known district would be worth considerable con-siderable money. Several new locations have been made, since our last issue, by the prospectors who have been and are now looking over the hills to the east of the City, with the hopes of discovering something as good. Our excellent and superior railway rail-way facilities the county road passes straight through the lower end of the mineral region and the railway station is only two miles and a "half, all down hill, from the place make mineral in the camp worth just double or treble that ol a like kind in La Plata, or other camps so far removed from railways, rail-ways, ore markets and mills. That Brigbam City has struck something rich is unquestionable; and that the new mining company will succeed in "showing it up" is sure. A season of mining prosperity has dawned upon us; let us make the best of it in the bright, early morn. Mines are now being worked on the north, east and south of us; still hundreds remain undiscovered undiscover-ed in the mountains in this vicinity. vicin-ity. Not long will they remain so.
