Show Commerce Official 1 Gathers Road Dala E. M.. Qualtrough, chairman .of the g'ood roads committee for the j Salt Lake Chamber1 of Commerce, H. j S. Kerr, assistant chief engineer for the state road commission, and A. ! C. Wilti, of the accounting' department depart-ment of the commission, spent a few minutes here last Friday. The gen-itlemen gen-itlemen were enroute to Southern Utah, where an inspection is to be made of the highways leading through the scenic wonders of the state. The trip will include visits to Bryce canyon, Cedar Breaks, the rim of ithe basin, St. George and other points through which the great caravan cara-van of tourists travel during the summer sum-mer and winter months. Mr: Qualtrough stated (that the chamber of commerce through the-good the-good roads committee of the organization organiz-ation wished to ascertain the exact condition of the highways in this particular par-ticular section, and for this reason he would make a personal inspection. The information, it was stated, v?as for the purpose of gaining a better knowledge in order to give due pub-I pub-I licity in (the advertising campaign being carried out by the chamber of commerce, exploiting Utah's wonders won-ders and possibilities. Mr. Qualtrough nor Mr. Kerr admitted ad-mitted they had not heard of the attitude at-titude of the American Automobile association, regarding the attempt and threat to boycott Southern Utah and Southern Utah's scenery. |
