Show Mr. r.n i Mis. Juhn Arneson, Mrs. MuiL'urct S. Froece and Miss Mary McCallum of Salina, attended the annual an-nual dinner given at the Presbyterian church Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Duggins entertained en-tertained for members of the 0. N. 0. Club Tuesday evening. Many of the club members attended the dinner given 'at the Presbyterian chaixd and later enjoyed a social evening at the Du'-'gins' home. Mali jongg and solo were the diversions. j A. Mad.sen, manager for the C. W. &. M. Co., of this city, and Lester Williams of Clarion, were motor; travelers to Salt Lake City last Sui day. They returned Tuesday after attending at-tending to some important business matters. Marian Madsen, a student of the; Wasatch academy at Mt. Pleasent, I arrived at his home yesterday afternoon. after-noon. Marian was called here on account ac-count of the illness of his father, C. M. Madsen. Mrs. Mamie Lundeberg entertained at a birthday anniversary party Mon- day afternoon. Many friends were present and enjoyed a splendid time and presented the hostess with many presents. A dainty luncheon was served serv-ed at five o'clock. Mrs. Ray B. Metcalf, the Misses Alda and Beulah Metcalf, motored to Provo last Saturday and were among the guests at a family reunion of a portion of the Halverson family given giv-en at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ern-est Halverson. Guests were there f rom Salt Lake and other places, and the affair proved a joyful meeting. Three carloads of fat sheep were shipped from the Gunnison yards yesterday morning. The shipment was made by Parley Madsen and was consigned con-signed to the Colorado markets. i- LOCAL ITEMS I I OF INTEREST j- David N. Beal, president of the Sanpete San-pete County farm bureau, and Edgar Tho. pe, of Ephraini, were in Gunnison last Saturday. The officials were here cnthusiasing the farmers of the valley val-ley to the importance of supporting the farm bureau and to organize a bureau here. J. R. Howard, former superintendent superintend-ent for the Gunnison Sugar company, and who later went with the People's Sugar company at Moroni, has returned return-ed to his home in Gunnison. Mr. Howard How-ard stated that while the run was comparatively short at the Moroni factory, a big yield of sugar was ob tained and the growers in that section sec-tion were highly pleased. Fred Jones, manager for the J. C. Penney, company at Gunnison, Mrs. Jones and Miss Gwedolyn Jones and ' J. T. Jones, motored to Mt. Pleasant last Sunday. Fred Jones was on a business visit to Mr. Anderson, manager man-ager for the Penney store at the Hub city. John S. Peterson and Mrs. Vada Titcomb motored to Salt Lake Saturday, Satur-day, returning Monday of this week. They were combining business with pleasure. Rev. T. G. MacLeod and Mrs. MacLeod, Mac-Leod, of Manti, were here Tuesday evening and attended the annual cafeteria caf-eteria dinner given by the Ladies' Missionary society at the Presbyterian Presbyter-ian chapel. |
