Show short visit to friends in Cache Valley. Last week a crowd of Logan people peo-ple drove over and spent a day in our city, Miss Tilda Harding, who has been visiting for two. weeks at Gunnison, returned Saturday evening bringing one of her friends, Miss Christensen, with her. There will be little done in Willard Wil-lard Statehood Da)', as many of the citizens are going to Saltair to bathe in the briny water and hear Utah's orators comment on our present situation. Last Sunday evening a large crowd of young people met at J. A. Edward's place and partook of their hospitality. They spent the evening in eating ice cream, etc., and listening to singing, reciting, etc. All went away feel- i ing nappy. There is a rumor afloat to the effect ef-fect that Miss-Hubbard, who has been engaged in the primary department de-partment of the public schools for two years, has not been engaged for the coming season. Ofcourse we have nothing to say if we Have another teacher who is just as competent, com-petent, but according to reports we are to fall back into the dark ages and put in our school room a person per-son who has had no experience only in the district schools. A person, no matter who it is, cannot keep pace with the mass of the teachers unless he has had some normal training. It is to be hoped that our trustees, instead of looking look-ing at a few paltry dollars, will take into consideration the moulding mould-ing and training of those seventy-five seventy-five or eighty young and tei.der minds. The young and tender plants must have the best scientific scientif-ic treatment. Citizen. Willard, July 31, 1894. wauflo. Cllln'' Want Coiuiietenl Teacheri Other Newly Nolui. Editor Bugler: R.
