Armistead ami son, Jack, who have- been visiting in '.his city for two weeks, left for their home at East Eakersfiehl Tuesday morning. Mr. ami Mrs. Armistead were called hc:e on account of the illness of Mrs. Armistead's father, C. M. Madsen. Mr3. Hart J. Sanders entertained for twelve members of the O. N. O. club at a well appointed mahjongg nartv at the Wisteria Thursday even- ing of last week. Prizes were won by Mis. J. A. Hagan, Mrs. L. J. Arnold and Mrs. J. E. Metcalf. DANCING CLUB AS HOSTS. The Hamilton ward dancing club j ntertained for some 200 of their j friends at a dancing party at the hi;;h school auditorium on Lincoln's 'birthday, Friday, February 12. The big throng of merrymakers joined in a good time and the dance was voted as one of the best of the mid-winter ; season. Cookies, punch and candies were served at a beautifully decorated decorat-ed booth. -I 1- LOCAL ITEMS I I OF INTEREST j Mrs. Sylvia Metcalf, who has beer, absent at Springville, Salt Lake, Ogden and other points since the middle of December, visiting with relatives, returned to her home in Gunnison Monday. Johnathan Leamasters, who "has the distinction of building the first log house in Gunnison, and who came to the valley with the first settlers, is i the city and is the guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Tufl;. Notwithstanding his age, 84, Mr. Lea-masters Lea-masters is hale and bearty and states that he is enjoying life to the fullest extent. Miss Aleda Christiansen was hostess host-ess to fourteen guests at a birthday anniversary partv Monday evening of this week. An elaborate dinner was served at six thirty and following this feature dancing and mah jongg- were enjoyed. Mrs. Clarence Madsen was the charming hostess at a dinne"--mah-jongg partv at her home Saturday evening. The home decorations were cleverly carried out in alentine de-; h'"ts and colors, and in the center of the dining table were red flowers encircled with hearts. Dinner was se' veil at seven thirty, covers being lahl for thirteen. At mahjongg prizes were won' by Mi's. B, A. Mad-son, Mad-son, Mrs. L. J. Arnold and Mrs. J. A. Ilagan. Rev. T. G. MacLeod of Manti will be in Gunnison next Sunday and will conduct services at the Presbyterian chapel. Services will begin at seven thi tv and the public is invited to attend. at-tend. Ms. Claud" Allred and Mrs. Jesse Pteelp of S.nlina were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Ms. F. A. Pock Tuesday of this week. Joe Willardson of this city, and Ernest Nies, a prominent horse buyer of Los Angeles, left for Ogden Monday Mon-day of this' week. They attended the sale of some 300 hoises which were auctioned to the public yesterday. Chas. Eatinger, prominent in business busi-ness circles in Southern Utah, was here from Mt. Pleasant last Saturday. Satur-day. Mr. Eatinger has taken the agency for the Nash automobile and 'he was here looking over the field for prospects. Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Whittenburg left for Salt Lake yesterday morning and expect to remain until the end 'of the week. Mr. Whittenburg, fieldman for the Gunnison Sugar company, will confer with the company com-pany officials while at the capitol city. Miss Berta Burr of Spring City is the guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Fredrickson. . Bert Willardson, an official of the Utah Poultry Producers Cooperative association, was here from Salt Lake last Friday. Be'rt was visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Willardson Wil-lardson and incidentally looking after his company's interests. Clarence Fredrickson, who is employed em-ployed flt the mines at Bingham, is taking a week's vacation and is visiting visit-ing with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Fredrickson. C. P. Jensen, who was at Salt Lake for a brief visit to his wife, has returned re-turned to his home irij this city. Mr. Jensen reports his wife as 'recovering 'recover-ing from the recent operation for the ! removal of the appendix and gall stones, but stated that before Mrs Jensen could return to Gunnison it would be necessary to have her tonsils ton-sils removed. !
