Tuesday the company contracted with Messrs. Maxwell and Will-iaiiiB, Will-iaiiiB, two experienced miners, to run a 150-foot tunnel. The same day the men commenced work. The tunnel was started in a deep, unfrequented gulch on the Gold Peak claim. Some fine specimens speci-mens of carbonate of silver have already been encountered. Yesterday one of the miners remarked re-marked that he had never before seen more promising surface indications. indi-cations. They are sanguine that a 25 or 50-foot shaft will strike something of great value. The ledge that is being followed now, dips to the east and grows richer as depth is attained. Everything points to the fad; that a valuable silver mi ue will be opened up at our doors in the course of a month or six weeks. Should such be the case, it will prove the biggest thing for Brig-ham Brig-ham City tiat ever befell it. Some people are prone to think it is utterly out of the question "for valuable mines t be found near Brig-ham.
