The eastern east-ern brook trout planted in 1924 are now from 8 to 10 inches in length and were favorites with the fishermen fisher-men although the rainbow trout thirteen inches in length were also caught. It is reported -that certain sheep- MANTI NATIONAL j FOREST NOTES , , On June 12th ranger Thursby and the Mt. Pleasant C & H herder rode over the Forest range east of Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Thursby reports that che elders and other tender vegetation vegeta-tion had been severly frozen. The rider's opinion is that the snow is men have been shooting at bear on their Jambing grounds. The ,state law closing the season for bear ro-vides ro-vides that where they are doing damage dam-age they may be destroyed, however, this dos not authorize anyone to kill bear near their herds. If the bears are bothering, the same should be reported to offices or the Biological survey, the Forest service or the state Fish and game wardens so arrangements ar-rangements can be made for destroy ing them. Ranger O'ilerton has submitted a tresspass report against the Madsen Brothers of Mt. Pleasant for exceeding exceed-ing their cattle permits along the east side of the forest. On June 11 and 12 Mr. Joseph C. Kircher of the Washington office and assistant district forester Woods, spent a day at the great basin Experiment Ex-periment station and the Supervisor's office. C. B. Ranger Anderson reports that some miscreants, supposedly fiomj the coal camps drove up to the Blue ' Lakes and shot fish, killing practical ly all in the lake. The effects of ihe shots on the bottom of the' lake are plainly visible. A reward 1 will likely be offered by the local sportsmen for information that will iead to the arrest and conviction of the guilty parties. j The Twin City Fish and Game club : have planted 30 cans of rain bow tingerlings in Indian creek during the past few days. It has been reported re-ported that the fishing in this stream on June 15 was very poor. j Last season the Manti Fish and Game club raised the dam at the ; mouth of Yearn's reservoir four or five feet, considerably increasing the size of the lake. The fish and game 'club restocked the lake last season. ! On June 15 this season the banks of 1 the lake were literally lined with the |
