Show Increase Prices; Give Better Fairs In order to standardize the Utah State Fair and keep it on a par with the annual exhibitions of other states, it has been found necessary to raise the price of admission at the main entrance, from twenty-five to fifty cents. Manager W. D. Sutton, who has made an extensive survey of expositions, ex-positions, explained that while it will .cost more hereafter, to see the Utal fair, there will be correspondingly more to see. It is said that Utah is the last state in the Union to raise the admission rate. Most states have an entrance fee of 75 cents; in many as high as one dollar. It was only when it was well demonstrated that Utah coulc' not under present conditions make f showing comparable to those of her sister states, that the change in admission ad-mission price was decided on. The Utah fair has always been a presentable presen-table exposition, famed the country over as one of the best, particularly in agriculture and livestock. To keep it up to its own high standard, the board of directors has found it necessary neces-sary to increase available revenue and the most feasible way open to them was to augment the gate receipts. re-ceipts. That fair patrons will not object to the advanced admission price is the belief of Mr. Sutton. There will be more free attractions than ever before. The fireworks, to be showi" each evening, will be free to all visit-: visit-: ors. Heretofore, a special charge oi fifty cents has been assessed for the pyrotechnic display alone. The exhibits ex-hibits in the various divisions will be-m.oie be-m.oie elaborate and varied than in any former exposition. The amusement amuse-ment features will be of a bettei grade and more profuse in variety. Plans for the forthcoming fair are progressing rapidly. The grounds are being improved and many new fa'cHities for display installed. Exhibitors Ex-hibitors from many quarters are seeking seek-ing details of entry requirements, ar interest that foretells a successfu fair. Mrs. Gwynne Lewis, and daughter Rosina, were travelers to Salt Laki City last Sunday. They were accom ! panied on their trip as far as Paysoi i by Mr. Lewis. |
