Show Lingering illness j Relieved by Dealh A. H. Campbell, for years a highly respected and widely known cit:Z'."l of Mayfield, tiled at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Margaret C.'hri -t;ph-orson at Garfield last Sunday morning, morn-ing, was the message received by relatives rel-atives in Gunnison Sunday morning. Death followed a linge-ing illness as a result of complications. Until six months ago Mr. Campbell was making mak-ing his home at Mayfield, hut with failing health he was advised to consult con-sult with specialists at Salt Lake. Some six months ago he went to the city and haj been taking treatment. Failing to get relief he went to the home of his daughter and after weeks of suffering death closed his earthly career. The remains were taken to Mayfield yesterday and funeral ser-sviee ser-sviee will be held at that place this afternoon. Mr. Campbell was a native of Scotland Scot-land and was born in June, 18(31. When a young lad he came to America Amer-ica with his parents and for a t;me lived at Suit Lake. Later he remove.! to Mayfih and had resided there continuously for the past forty yea s He was prominent in farming an.! occupied offices of trust, being president presi-dent of the Mayfield Irrigation company com-pany at the time of his death. He was active inchurch work and a leader lead-er in civic affairs until his health was broken. He is survived by his widow, Jan?t! Campbell, four dauht?vs, Mrs. Emily j Shafer of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Christoperson and Mrs. Dell Christopherson of Garfield, and Mrs. William Baxter of Gunnison, and two sons, John Campbell of Mayfield, and Thomas Campbell of Emery. Mrs. Shafer is expected here f:om Portland Port-land to attend the funeral of her fa- j ther. j |
