Show Sportsmen Meeting' Will Attract Many The third annual outing of the Federated Fed-erated Fish mid Game Protective association of Utah, scheduled to he held at Geneva, on Utah lake next Saturday and Sunday, promises to eclipse any meeting of its kind ever held in the west. One of tire big1 events which is being planned is a shooting contest in which, it is stated nearly 540 gunners will participate. Utah trap shooters are going after the world's record established at San Francisco a few weeks ago. In this state are some "cracks" at trap shooting and should the laurels be landed for Utah, nation wide publicity would be gained. In the contest at trap shooting all sportsmen will be eligible and proper handicaps will be offered for the novice and for all wnners suitable prizes will be given. Carl Erikson,, secretary of the Gunnison Gun-nison Valley Fish and Game Protective Protec-tive association, and Dr. J. G. Hagan, president of the local association, have received special invitations fc the members of the local club to be present at the Saturday and Sunday outing. In a communication from D. H. Madsen, state fish and game commissioner, com-missioner, it is announced that representatives rep-resentatives from every club in the state will be at Geneva Sunday and the attendance is expected to exceed 1000 sport fans. In addition to the trap shooting event, there will be discussions of various topics pertaining to fish and game and this feature, through the ideas advanced from other clubs and members, will prove a big benefit. President Hagan and Secretary Erikson of the Gunnison Valley club will name several delegates from here Centerfield and Mayfield to attend the big annual outing. |
