Show WATER WORKS TALK. Five carloads of 8-inch sewer pipe, to be used from the reservoir up the canyon, are now on the way from Denver. The iron pipe will soon be started from St. Louis. Scores of young men have been waiting around, the past month or more, to secure work on the system. There will be ample employment for all when the work is fully under way. Actual work was begun on the water works last Tuesday; ninety days from then, provided all goes 1 well, the entire system should be com pleted. The trench laborers, working from the reservoir site eastward, find the digging much easier than anticipated. This will greatly accelerate ac-celerate the completion of the system. M. L. Ensign has the contract for constructing the V shape board , flume from the springs at Devil's Gate to the canyon, a distance of two miles. This must be com pie t- ; ed within 50 days. i Much trench-digging will not be done until the pipe arrives, so the pipe can be laid as fast as the trench is completed. The bench east of the cemetery, and the land lying at its foot, can be transferred from an unattractive unattrac-tive sagebrush field into beautiful home sites, gardens and orchards, simply by a proper utilization of the overflow from the reservoir. |
