Show Blue Ribbon Hogs Sold By Breeders More than twenty Chester White gelts, the products of the hogs sold to the farmers of the valley last year, were gathered from the various pens throughout the valley last week and were shipped to various parts of the state. The hogs, which are less than five months old, were some of the finest stock ever seen in the valley and every one was a "blue ribbon" rib-bon" winner. The larger ' portion of the pigs were taken from the pens owned by C. P. Larson and Sidney Fjeldsted of Centerfield, Jos. A. Larson Lar-son of Gunnison, and Joe Ericksen of Fayette, all wembers of the Gunnison Valleyj Chester White Breeders association. assoc-iation. The stock shipped would average aver-age better than 150 pounds each and from points of judging were almost perfect. Last year the officers and representatives repre-sentatives of the Central U. S. Swine company shipped in a carload of thoroughbred Chester White hogs and many were sold about the valley. The placing of the hogs here was to test the climatic conditions, feed and other important factors in breeding. With the shipment of the hogs last week it was provenj beyond a doubt that the industry is a success here and every purchaser of the breeders, with but few exceptions, . is highly elated over the success. There were only a few of the hogs that failed to give good returns and these, it is announced, have been replaced with other brood sows.
