Show Gunnison Kings Wins In A Walk Before cue of the largest Saturday afternoon crowds ever seen on the Gunnison ball park, Gunnison walloped wal-loped Sc-liua to a "frazzle" last Saturday Sat-urday afteroon and camo out with a score of 19 while tho visitors only succeeded in crossing the home plat? with one single run. Never at any point in the game was the Gunnison Kings in danger, and from the very first inning had the Salinaites at their mercy and Pitcher Gillespie where they wanted him. At tho opener open-er for tho home boys they clouted the imported pitcher for the visitors for two singles and a two-badger. Not once during their time at the bat did Gunnison fail to connect, getting from one to four hits every time they faced Gillespie. In all the Salina, pitcher vas slammed for 22 hits, the Kings all having their hitting suite, on But the visiting pitcher not only proved weak, but his support "went up" soon after tho game started and they never' did come down. Gunnison played one of tho best games in her history. All men were on the job from start to finish, and Lester Fredrickson, more than did his share in winning tho game. His pitching was a puzzler to Salina. The little "bear-cat" only allowed five, hits during the entire game. He struck out twelve men and in addition addi-tion to pitching the best game this year, he waded into the batting list, landing for two three-base hits, a two-base hit and ading three runs of the 2 2 secured by the Kings. The five hits allowed were all scattering. Two were given in the sixth inning. Peterson, playing first base for Salina, Sa-lina, clouted a three-bagger and the lonely one score made by the visitors was when Bird mado a hit allowing Peterson to come in. The superior support given Fredi'ickson by his mates was a big factor and demonstrated demon-strated that the Kings had the best of the Salina team from the very start. Gunnison II. II. E. D.
