Ogden of Louisville. Louis-ville. Ky. j Dr. S. W. Stratton, director, invited invit-ed Mr. Ogden to send him a quantity , of the stems, which now have no value as raw material. Ho promised to put the bureau's experts lo work: and even went so far as to tell Mr.1 Ogden that he would convert the j stems into paper. Discussion of the experiment arose' when Mr. Ogden inspected other results re-sults of the bureau's probe into new methods of paper manufacture. Sugar Su-gar cane has been used in one instance in-stance to produce a quality of paper that keeps the department of commerce com-merce supplied with note paper. Mr. Ogden is looking for more tobacco to-bacco stems. He is enthusiastic over the possibilities. i |
