Show Plans Complete For Big Doings Monday Gunnison Will Entertain Big Throng at Fourth of July Celebration With Program and Sports. All roads will lead to Gunnison, July 5. Definite plans have been completed for a rousing and patriotic celebration, celebra-tion, and inasmuch as the natal day comes on Sunday this year the ceremonies cere-monies will be carried out on Monday. Mon-day. The several committees report the completion of the various programs pro-grams which will be given throughout the day and there is an assurance that all visitors, as well as the folks at home, will have a good time. A special Invitatio.i has been extended ex-tended to Westview, Clarion, Fayette and Mayfield ,and large crowds are expected from these places. The following will be the order of the day: - Salute at daybreak, Emile Rosen wall, captain. Raising of "Old Glory" and band serenade at sunrise. Program, 0 a. m. Marshal of the day N. L. Her-mansen. Her-mansen. Auto parade at 9 a. m. Assemble at City hall promptly at 9 o'clock. Order of procession: Gunnison band, "Goddess of Liberty," city officials, Indian war veterans, Legioneers and civilians in automobiles. Miss Gladys Larson will act as ''Goddess of Liberty." Her maids will be Velda Ferre and Lola Edwards. Ed-wards. Program, 10 a. m. Exercises to be held at the Casino theater: Selection Gunnison band. Double quartet George Larson and company. Invocation Fred Swalberg. Oration Orator of the day. Duet Miss Virginia Peterson and Miss Glayde Bown. Reading -Mrs. J. W. Jones. Trombone solo Harold Halverson. Reading Vesta Pierce. Singing "Star Spangled Banner," by Miss Sylvia Willardson, assisted by audience. Selection Gunnison band. Benediction Fred Swalberg. Ball Game at 1 p. m. Ball game between Salina and Gunnison Gun-nison at Gunnison park. The game will be called promptly at 1 o'clock. Program, 2 p. m. Children's dance at Peterson hall. All children are Invited to take part in the dance. Program, 4:30 p. m. Sports on Main street. Races, contests con-tests and other modes of clean sport. |
