Exerting her utmost, Gunnison failed in many points and at the end of the game tle locals had three tallies while the Sallnaites had chalked up eight. It was an off day for the Sugar Kings, almost every willow used by them having a big1 hole in it. They simply could not hit, and this reason " is assigned for the defeat. It was not because of the superior twirling by Thornlerg fol: the Salina boys, but action was not in the Gunnisonltes, and they went down to defeat. Lester Fredrickson, the redoubtable little " 1Tlf??t1Tttor Gunnison, was in the game, and in addition to only allowing allow-ing seven hits, he cracked out a liome run for his team, and struck out seven sev-en men. The attendance at the Salina game last Sunday was the largest ever seen at any oneiiall game in the southern . part of the state. Nearly 100 fans from Gunnison, Including some of the i leading citizens, were present. |
