Candland to "i Republican County Convention nomination for the office of slate j ator from Sanpete county. i In the selection of Mr. Candland for this high and important oflice the Republican County Convention will have a man well qualified for the im- portant work which a State Senator has to perform. Mr. Candland is, in our opinion, the logical man for the nomination. He is a man well informed in-formed in legislative work. His twelve years f .service at iia-P' -Capitol, duing" wlVitirSj'X''"'"' continuously associated with the le islative bodies of the state, has g. him valuable experience and infon tion which will greatly assist him performing the duties of this hi" - t office. Mr. Candland, if elected, w not have to spend three-fourths o ', his time in learning how to do things in the legislature. He will be one of the leaders in the first session. As we view what can be accomplished accom-plished for Sanpete county in the next few years, we might mention that a great reservoir could be built at the very head of this valley which would practically double the production of the lands of Sanpete valley, and with Mr. Candland's long experience in . building reservoirs for the state in past years, will give him a powerful influence in bringing state aid fo this, the ' 'merest and best irrigation,. J project in' state today. We need the reservoir and the state aid will carry the project to a reality. There are many other things Mr. Candland is thoroughly acquainted with. Especially Es-pecially in relation to the use of the steam shovel, for which the state claims $2,600.00 from Mt. Pleasant. We would have a man there to repre-sent repre-sent the interests of this section ' knows all the details concer these matters. There is a possi ir of getting a branch state norms L lege for this end of the county J'T Mr. Candland would be a strong ' for such a movement. AnL,url , more, he is a business man from'-' Z. As president of a bank he ki I the conditions of the people in J section. He knows what is best J their interests, and what will build up the resources of the central,"' part of Utah. Here we have a vast empire of wealth which the rest sf I the state knows very little abuur Mr. Candland is thoroughly acquaint- ed with the possibilities of this part of the state as well as any one w- He is a member of the Farm Bureai and is on record as being in favor r. strict economy in all government; affairs. He is a man of wide expe ience and will, if elected, fill the oil fice of State Senator in a credilabj manner.
