Jones as a representative representa-tive from Gunnison to attend the Industrial In-dustrial conference-called by Governor Gover-nor Mabey for Friday of last week, returned home the first of the week and reports a most successful meeting. meet-ing. Mr. Madsen slated that a large representation from the state was present and that St .George on the J-outh and Logan on the north was represented. The problem of caring for tbe unemployed of the state was the main subject for discussion. It was plainly brought out that the basis ba-sis economic conditions of Vtah were sound, tint that there existed considerable unemployment for vhich temporary relief must be provided pro-vided at once. ! After the proposition had Jieeu analyzed from many angles a set of Resolutions were passed at the meeting meet-ing as follows: That each county of this state effect au organization at an early dafe, for tbe purpose of caring for its local problem of unemployment; That each unit immediately bf-giu bf-giu a campaign . for itlut purpose of inducing both private and public, improvement, im-provement, not inconsistent with sound business principles, to the end that each county absorb, insofar as 'possible, its own surplus labor; That reports be regularly sub-billed sub-billed to the industrial commission initiated through the efforts of the county unit, and any other valuable information that might be of value !o the state; That in all matters of employment, preference be given to Anieriran citizens citi-zens who are the heads of families, hnd unmarried Americans: .
