Show Society j Mrs. Henry Reams and Mrs. Ellen Hofheins, assisted by Miss Elma Fjeldsted, tendered a formal reception recep-tion to Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Kearns at the home of H. A. Kearns Thursday night of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Kearns, whose marriage occurred oc-curred just recently, were the guests of honor and some forty (friends were present. At 9 o'clock a jbot supper was served and following dancing was indulged in. For the occasion the Kearns home was most beautifully decorated with chrysanthemums chrysan-themums arranged artistically in and about the three large tables and about the rooms. Besides the friends in Gunnison at the reception and dinner, din-ner, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Brown of Sa-lina Sa-lina were present. Mr. and Mrs. Kearns, the newly weds, received" many beautiful presents. o Mrs. H. P. Jensen delightfully entertained en-tertained some thirty of her friends at an anniversary party at her home (last Tuesday afternoon. The home ,was beautifully decorated with garden gar-den flowers. Progressive five-hundred was played at five tables and the winners of the favors were 'Mrs, J. Keyser, first, Mrs. Charlotte Villard, second, while the "booby" was captured by Mrs. Willis Chris-tensen. Chris-tensen. The hostess was the recipient recip-ient of a number of beautiful tokens las a remembrance of the occasion. At five thirty refreshments were , served. o The Bonne Foi members were the guests of Mrs. Clinton Edwards yesterday yes-terday afternoon. The usual reading was dispensed with and tho afternoon after-noon was spent in Needlecraft and a short business session. The club members were served with refresh- ments at 5 o'clock. o Mrs. A. J. Hagan and Mrs. M. C. Madsen were hostesses at a "miscellaneous" "miscel-laneous" shower, complimentary to Miss Evelyn Funk, . whose marriage to Rulon K. Madsen, is announced for November 3. Thirty-two guests were present, and at 7:30 a delicious hot plate lunch was served. Following Follow-ing luncheon, Progressive Five Hundred Hun-dred was played, and for the first prize Mrs. O. H. Halverson was victor, vic-tor, while second prize was won by Mrs. Ray Metcalf. Miss Funk, .the bride-elect, received many beautiful and useful presents. o The Social Circle club members were the guests of Mrs. James Bown Wednesday afternoon. "When there fs Sunshine in the Soul" was the title of a reading given by Mrs. C. N. Jensen Jen-sen and before the close delicious refreshments re-freshments were served. Mrs. June Metcalf was elected by members of the club. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. C. N. Jensen. Jen-sen. Mrs. Edd Jensen and Mrs. J. B. Roper entertained forty of their friends at a. Hallowe'en party at the Jensen home last evening. The home was. beautifully decorated and the scheme was cleverly carried out with "spooky" designs and other caract-!?rs caract-!?rs befitting for the occasion. At seven o'clock an appetizing hot lunch was served and following this a diversion di-version of pastimes was had by those present. Threading squash seeds for a prize and a prize for the best ghost story was given. |
