Show Fleet of Trucks Transport Beets Four mammoth trucks from the Shaw Motor company of Salt Lake and under the management of A. W. Shaw, have arrived from the north and Wednesday the trucks were put into commission transporting the sugar su-gar beets from the west aide, including includ-ing the fields at Clarion, West View, v Fayette, Extension station and Flat Canyon. The big trucks are manned by experts and the work of rushing rush-ing the beets to the factory will be hurried with all possible speed. The combined carrying capacity of the fleet of trucks will be better than 20 0 tons per day and if weather conditions con-ditions will continue favorable the west section will soon have been cleaned up for this season. "Digging throughout the many fields in the valley is progressing most satisfactorily," said an official of the company yesterday. "The bad weather of last week greatly retarded the work but with present conditions and with the indications of continued good weather the crop will be gathered gath-ered without any loss. Some thirty cars are being received at the factory fac-tory daily, and with the addition of the crop of the west side coming in. there will not be a shortage of beets for cutting. The big factory is performing per-forming its work in splendid style and the daily capacity will average i nearly 450 tons." |
