Show Auto Thieves Work At Centerfield During the performance at the Centerfield Opera House last Monday night, someone stole the Ford touring tour-ing car belonging to Angus Westover, and any information that-will lead to the arrest of the thief will be welcomed wel-comed by the owner. The person or persons who got away with the car were very clever, as absolutely no trace was left, and the officers thus far have been unable to get any trace of the thieves. As soon as the theft was discovered discov-ered the alrm was given and officers in Sevier and Sanpete counties were notified, but as yet no trace of the missing machine. Westover, upon the discovery of his loss, called Miles Madsen into service, and a trip south was made in the hope of picking up a clue. Madsen and Westover went nearly to Richfield and then returned and took up the trail north, going beyond be-yond Nephi, returning by the way .of Manti without results. The theory the-ory is advanced that some stranger took the car and evidently was only familiar with the workings of a Ford, as dozens of other cars of better make and far more valuable were parked in front of the theater. Car owners are warned to keep a close watch on their machines, as several thefts have been reported during the past few m6nths, and only in one instance one recovery made. |
