Show Independence Day To Be Celebrated Gunnison will celebrate the Fourth of July. The festivities will, perhaps, per-haps, not be on the scale of the previous pre-vious years, but plans are being made to observe the day in a fitting manner. man-ner. Tentative plans are for an elaborate elab-orate program in the morning, at which some outside speaker will be present. In the afternoon a program for the "kiddies" will be arranged. There will be a free dance and plenty of fun and amusement will be afforded afford-ed the younger folks. The matter of giving the celebration celebra-tion was taken up at the city council meeting last Saturday night and Mayor May-or Jones appointed the following members of the council to act on the respective committees: Ira Overfelt and Martin Peterson, program; Anthony An-thony Madsen, finance; George Hal-verson Hal-verson and Archie Sorensen, sports. Centerfield, Mayfield, Clarion, West View, Axtell and all the towns of the valley are asked to join with Gunnison in celebrating Independence Indepen-dence day. |
