Show Kl G.VIt, CKEAM AM) PACKING Iieet sugar production is a western irrigated lands industry that stimulates stimu-lates dairy and intensive farming. A Colorado town has just held its tenth annual dairy congress where pure-bred cows were shown and sold for high' prices. Following the establishment of the dairy industry there spring up silos and the necessary rotation of dairy crops. Beet sugar crops as high as fifteen tons beets to the acre carry with them nearly as many tons of fodder as a by-product. Three thousand dairy cows are supplying ,a milk condensery with a payroll of $25,000 a month fed from sugar beet waste. A credit organization of banks in every county to finance introduction of better breeds of dairy cattle completes com-pletes the circle. Best of all dairying and intensive farming keeps up the- fertility of the soil and gives employment to people in country and town. Banking, beets, butter, better business busi-ness conditions, better labor and farm conditions, beats political and class agitations. |
