Show State Farm Bureau Fixes Wage Scale Tentative plana for a uniform wage scale which will be applied and la of special Interest to all farm ers, more particularly the beet growers, grow-ers, has been submitted to the local farm bureau for ratification or rejection re-jection and at the next meeting ot the association it i9 expected that some definite action will be taken to establish the scale to be paid for help on the farms during the season 1921. At a meeting of the labor committee commit-tee of the Utah State Farm Boreau held at Salt. Lake, March 22, a schedule sched-ule of wages was unanimously adopted adopt-ed by the committee. Circular letters let-ters have been mailed out to the several sev-eral organizations throughout the state urging the adoption of the new scale. The schedule as compiled foi beets is as follows: Bunching and thinning I 7.00 First hceing 2.50 Second hoeing 1.50 Total spring work $11.00 . g ' o S. In addition to the beet schedule fixed as the maximum to be paid under un-der normal conditions, the committee commit-tee from the Utah State Farm Bureau Bu-reau fixed and approved a scale for general farm work as follows: For general farm work single hand, 37 cents per hour, without board; for general farm work, single hand and team, $5 for eight hours. Each additional ad-ditional horse, $1 per eight-hour day. , The committee formulating the new , schedules is insisting that the farmers throughout the state hold to this schedule as closely as local conditions will permit. However, it is advised that if it is necessary to add to or detract from the schedule, to do so, but to establish a set rate and stand by it. |
