Sec'y McDaniel, of the Utah World's Commission, is now supplied sup-plied with the rules and regulations regula-tions governing exhibits in the several departments of the World's Fair, which he would be pleased to mail to anyone on application. The site assigned to Utah for building purposes, at Chicago, is said to be superior to that of any other state or territory. Executive Commissioner Empey and Sec'y McDaniel Mc-Daniel will leave for Chicago in a few days to take formal possession of the grounds assigned to Utah and make arrangements for the erection of Utah's building. The leading educators of tlie Territory are taking a great interest in the educational exhibit for Utah at the World's Fair. A committee has been appointed and formal application has been made to the Commission to appoint a chief of the educational department to take charge of the school department. The Commissioners will take action on-this matter early in June. The first application for space at the World's Fair comes from Provo fur an exhibit of slate and marble in the mining department. A Board of Lady Managers for Utah will probably be soon appointed ap-pointed by tlie commissioners. Tlie lady managers will have charge of the woman's department in the Utah building. It is the intention to have a large quantity of Utah fruit forwarded for-warded to Chicago at least once a week during the fruit season. This fruit will be exhibited in the Utah building and distributed among guests. It is thought the leading fruit growers will readily contrib ute fruit for this purpose. Sections of Utali soil will be exhibited at the World's Fair. The soil will be taken up in large squares and placed in boxes with glass fronts, thus showing it in its natural position. |
