It proclaims to the reading public the existence of that city or county, portrays its beauties, explains its advantages, and induces capital to aid in developing its resources. Hundreds of things the local paper docs for which it never gets-crcdit. gets-crcdit. Ft congratulates the newly wedded, sympathizes with the sick, heralds the babe and tells the story of the dead. It helps the town wherein it is published as no other agency can. It helps your business busi-ness when it helps the town, whether you patroi.ize it or not. While the local paper is building build-ing up the community and every business enterprise within its jurisdiction, juris-diction, it is at the same time preserving pre-serving sermons and speeches, arranging ar-ranging a record of... local events, and going upon the files as a commonplace com-monplace history which in no other way would ever be compiled. The success of a newspaper depends de-pends upon the puplic, and if the public looks upon it as a good investment in-vestment and gives it that encouragement encour-agement that a local organ needs and a live one deserves, the favor should be acknowledged. |
