Show TOO MUCH IiEGISIiATIOX. Western states have'piled up hundreds hun-dreds of pages of election laws, registration regis-tration laws and primary laws. In some of the western states all the expense of holding an election runs up to from $1 to $2 per voter. Too much legisltion results in uncertainty un-certainty of he citizen as to who can vote, and so fewer and fewer go to the polls. Too much legislation is the curse of modern politics and the main cause of high taxes. The people have one remedy defeat de-feat candidates who multiply laws and vote down direct legislation bills. |
