IV I IMl fHi, HflLlllil Urlll;, J REPORTS STATE THAT REVOLUTION REVOLU-TION IS NOT IN PROGRESS AS STATED IN ITALY Predictions As to Government's Settlement Set-tlement Differ Fascisti May Get Cabinet Membership London While the latest news from Rome shows a continuance of a crisis in Italy there is nothing in the advices received Friday to indicate that anything any-thing in the nature of a revolution is in progress. Some Rome messages predict the crisis will be speedily settled and another an-other dispatch announces the sending send-ing of an invitation by the Facta government gov-ernment to Benito Mussolini, leader of the Fascisti, for a conference which may mean entrance of the Fasciti into the cabinet. Meanwhile the report through Paris that the Fascisti were marching on Rwme is without any confirmation. The dominant fact is that the Fascisti Fas-cisti are demanding a share in the government. It is recalled that Mussolini Mus-solini in his speech at the Naples meeting of the Fascisti affirmed that "either the government of the country coun-try will be given to the Fascisti peacefully peace-fully or we will take it by force," but that he also stated: "The Italian regime of unity has been strongly cemented by the Savoy monarchy," at which the assembly rose and cried : "Viva King Emanuel." Eman-uel." The Fascisti organization which was formed by the extreme nationalists to combat the growing power of the Communists and Socialists, has reached reach-ed a strength variously estimated at from 400,000 to S0O.00O men, a large part of whom are armed, drilled and ready for militiary action. The Messagero Friday states that Premier Facta Thursday telephoned the attitude of the ministers to King Victor Emmanuel at San Rossore, and that he made a similar communication communica-tion to presidents of the..sehate and chamber of deputies. The newspaper adds that the council of ministers will decide before long whether the entire en-tire cabinet should go out or only cer tain of the ministers quit office. In any case it declares the crisis will be speedily settled. An official dispatch was issued in Rome Friday on the serious situation there. The rival elements are apparently appar-ently tampering with the telegraph, as the first two sections of the official statement have not been received here although filed at Rome. Signer Giolitti is receiving eoungrat ulations, according to the last section of the statement received which says: "Giolitt, speaking to delegation headed by Senator Marquis Disaluzzo, who presented congratulations, said Italy was going through a grave moment. All the forces of the country, he declared, de-clared, must gather together to solve its economic and financial problems, which otherwise presaged sadder days for Itlay. He added that the country possesses energies which if properly handled would soon place Italy on, its feet again." |
