Show A Question of Dignity. Towards the close of the Irish revolt re-volt a iand of about two hundred rebels reb-els decided to surrender, but considered consid-ered it beneath their dignity to give themselves up to the two policemen who, at that moment, were the only representatives of law and order near. Their leader accordingly telephoned to the nearest barracks and asked that a more imposing force should be senv to take the rebels in charge. Being only too willing to oblige, the officer sent a considerable detachment, and the insurgents were thus able to march to their place of detention with unruffled un-ruffled disnitv between the ranks of their armea guards. - T |
