Show Pearl Hansen Dies At Salt Lake City Pearl Hansen, of Mayfield, the young woman who was frightfully burned when the Hansen home was destroyed by fire a little more than a year ago, died at the L. D. S. hospital hos-pital at Salt Lake Tuesday afternoon after-noon at five o'clock. With her was her mother, who had gorue to be with her daughter during the trying ordeal or-deal of the operations which were performed. Because the bones of the young-lady young-lady had begun to decay and operation opera-tion was necessary and following the fourth operation Miss Hansen succumbed. suc-cumbed. When word was received at May-field May-field of the sudden death, Oliver Hansen, a brother, left immediately for Salt Lake and arrangements will be made to take the body to May-field May-field where funeral services wil be held and interment made. On the third of August, 1921, the Hansen home caue-ht fire thrnno-li 1 some cause and was burned to the ground. Pari Hansen, with her niece, Ilia Hansen, 6 years old, had retired and were in the upper part ! of the building. They were awakened awaken-ed when the ceiling of the buildnig caved in burying them in a mass of burning timber. Pearl Hansen, fortunately for-tunately escaped, but Ilia perished in the flames. Miss Pearl Hansen in escaping form the building was frightfully burned and sustained several broken bones in her body. For more than a year she suffered, but never gave up the hope of having hav-ing her health restored. The flesh on her face and body was so badly burned that large pieces dropped away, but through care the burns were healed. Developments, however, how-ever, in bone decay, brought on by the burns, necessitated operations and being in a weakened condition Miss Hansen could not stand the ordeal or-deal and passed away from her suffering. |
